Amy and Arun are two of the nicest people I have ever met, and their wedding day was a total triumph. The most beautiful thing about them is the enthusiasm they put into everything that they do together. They loved ever single minute of the day and you could just see them drinking in every part. On the wedding day Arun had made a slideshow of their lives together which such an amazing idea! There wasn’t a dry eye in the room.
As an observer Sikh weddings are some of the most beautiful and emotion filled events you are likely to find. I am a huge fan of experiencing new cultures and Sikh weddings are filled with colour and tradition and they are always bursting with emotion. There is a real emphasis on two sides welcoming each other with loads of beautiful mini ceremonies that the families share. The dance floors for the party afterwards always promises to be epic and is SO much fun to be part of.
As a wedding photographer, Sikh weddings are the hardest thing you are likely to encounter. They tend to start very early, often before sunrise and are packed with moments at every stage that happen fast and without warning. The Gurdwaras can be so dark that off camera lighting is essential and there are very strict rules to follow. With all of that in mind if you ever do get the chance to photograph one I would highly suggest you grab the chance with both hands, because you will love it.
