Amber and Ben had got in touch with me for the first time way back in 2018 and asked if I would like to be their wedding photographer at Brinsop Court in Herefordshire. We met at the wedding venue for their consultation to go over the details of their ceremony, drinks reception and the party afterwards. I quickly learned that they are an absolutely awesome couple and so of course was so happy to book their wedding for early April… in 2020…

I finally arrived at Brinsop court for their wedding day at the end of October 2021. During the time they had had to postpone they were married in a quiet little ceremony in Scotland so their celebration at Brinsop was going to be a time for them to do it all again but with all of their friends and family present.

The weather held so they had their ceremony outdoors in the courtyard at Brinsop which is just one of the beautiful locations you can get married in at this extraordinary venue. Ben’s reaction to Amber walking down the stairs is one of those moments that I love at weddings – a little bit of nerves, but mostly just sheer joy.

After the ceremony their wedding party had their drinks reception spread between the Queen Anne and the living room. They kept it inside because although the sun was out, it was still quite a crisp autumn day. Everyone was kept warm by crackling fires and good company.

Just before they headed upstairs into the Medieval banqueting hall for the wedding breakfast we stepped outside for a few portraits of the newly married couple. I try to take couples away at times when it will have the least impact on their day. So 10-15 minutes before the guests are called through for the wedding breakfast is perfect. It also serves as a nice break for the couple, to just have a few minutes alone. After a few portraits of the two of them we headed back up to the medieval banqueting hall so they could be announced into to room and seated for the wedding breakfast.

The Meal was gorgeous, served by the ever talented A-zest and was followed by a set of speeches that required the youngest in their room to cover their ears. The evening party was held in the Knot where the dancing continued late into the night.

It was an absolute pleasure to be part of Amber and Bens day and I wish them both all the very best for a long and happy life together.

A quick shoutout to a few of the suppliers from the day:
