This Privacy Notice ("Notice") is provided by David Liebst, trading as David Liebst Photography UK. It covers your rights in relation to the Data Protection Act 2018 ("DPA"), the UK General Data Protection Regulation ("UK GDPR") and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations ("PECR").

This Notice also explains how David Liebst Photography UK complies with the DPA, UK GDPR and PECR.

David Liebst Photography UK is the controller of all personal data collected.

2. Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you have a number of rights relating to your personal data and how it is processed:

• The right to be informed about the collection and use of your personal data.

• The right to access your personal data, and any supplementary information which constitutes personal data.

• The right to have your personal data rectified — you can ask me to correct it if it changes, turns out to be inaccurate, or is incomplete.

• The right to have your personal data deleted. There are some circumstances in which this right does not apply.

• The right to restrict my processing of your personal data.

• The right to data portability.

• The right to object to my processing of your personal data.

• Rights relating to automated decision making, including profiling.

Most of these rights apply to your personal data and how it is processed by David Liebst Photography UK, but some — such as the right to data portability and rights relating to automated decision making — are not relevant to this business at the time of writing.

3. The data I collect, how I use it and why

Client contact information

I use personal data, provided directly and voluntarily to me by clients, for two purposes. The first is to carry out my contractual obligations. This means it is information I need in order to do my job, and includes names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers and any further information I need to complete your photography requirements.

The second purpose is to understand how people find and choose my business, which helps me with sales and marketing. For example, to better understand where you heard about me and whether or not you chose to book me. This is a legitimate interest and a reasonable expectation that most people would have about a business.

Website analytics and cookies

This website uses cookies. A cookie is a small file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. Two kinds are used here.

• Essential cookies, set by WordPress and the ProPhoto theme that run this site, so that pages load and display correctly. These do not identify you and the site cannot work without them.

• Google Analytics cookies, which measure how the site is used — which pages are visited, how long people stay, roughly which country they are in, and which site they arrived from. I use this to understand which parts of my website are working. It does not tell me who you are, and I do not use it to identify individual visitors.

Google Analytics is not essential to the running of this website. If you would rather not be included in it, you can opt out in either of these ways, and the site will work normally either way:

• Install Google's opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout

• Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Every major browser allows this, usually under Privacy or Security.

This website does not use advertising or social media tracking cookies.

4. Photography service pricing and payment

Pricing for photography services is provided at the time of enquiry, made through the contact page on my website. Payment is made by direct bank transfer.

5. Galleries, prints and downloads

I host all my client galleries on Pic-Time. You will be issued with a password protected gallery that is private and can only be accessed through a link that I give you. Visitors will need to provide an email address along with the password in order to view it. Pic-Time's privacy policy is available on their website.

The gallery provided includes the option to purchase prints. Prices are shown alongside the various print sizes before any purchase is made. Card payments are processed by the gallery provider's payment processor, not by me — I do not see or store your card details.

6. Returns and refunds

Requests for refunds and returns can only be made within 14 days, and are subject to review. To request a refund or return, please email david@davidliebstphotography.com or call +447943313134.

7. How your data is stored

Data is collected from you electronically and physically. If you decide to book me as your wedding photographer I will send you my contract by email. I will ask you to complete it and return it to me by post or email. I print a hard copy and store this in secure files at home, not online. The email version stays in my email account for one year, after which all emails between us are deleted.

8. Contacting me

Users contacting me through this website do so at their own discretion and provide any personal details requested at their own risk. Your personal information is kept private and stored securely until such time as it is no longer required.

Where I have clearly stated the fact, and only where you have given express permission, I may use your details to occasionally send you information about my services.

Email mailing lists and marketing messages

I may in future operate an email mailing list, used to inform subscribers about services and news. Subscription is through an online process and only where explicit permission has been given. Subscriber details are collected, processed and stored in accordance with the DPA and UK GDPR. Subscribers can unsubscribe at any time through an automated online service, or by the means detailed in the footer of any marketing message. The type and content of messages, and whether they may contain third party content, will be made clear at the point of subscription.

9. Sharing information with third parties

Other than the third parties mentioned in this Notice and listed below, David Liebst Photography UK will not pass your personal data to any third party.

Your personal data may, subject to my obligations under data protection law, be shared with:

• Pic-Time, as described above;

• Second photographers who join me on wedding shoots and need information in order to do their job;

• Having taken precautions to maintain the security of such personal data, I may in certain circumstances share personal data with the ICO and other legal, regulatory and law enforcement bodies.

In certain circumstances I may also share your personal data with third party media businesses for the purposes of marketing my work — for example wedding magazines and publications, wedding websites, social media, or other outlets, with the aim of raising awareness of my business.
